Position Description
Safely performs journeyperson level tasks in the fabrication, construction, maintenance, alteration and repair of fixtures, equipment, structures, buildings, and built-in components for Texas Tech facilities. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions

Perform routine installations and repairs of motors, relays, contactors, electrical panels, breakers and sump pumps.
Install and repair wiring, bending conduit, electrical fixtures, GFI's switches and outlets.
Work with low and high voltages and be able to use voltmeter, amp meters and other testers.
Work will consist of reading blue prints and schematics.

Required Qualifications
Proficiency in written and mathematical skills as may be reflected in the completion of high school or equivalent. Three years experience in designated trade or licensed journeyperson.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years in the electrical trade
Able to install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
