Open Rank Visiting Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a non-tenure-track Open Rank Visiting Professor position to begin in Fall 2025 to teach 3-4 courses per semester. This non-tenure track position is full-time and benefits eligible.

Qualified applicants from all areas of electrical or computer engineering (or equivalent preparation) are welcome to apply. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise to teach core undergraduate courses in two or more of these areas: electromagnetics, electronics, control systems, and software engineering.

Candidates will be expected to engage in primarily undergraduate and some graduate teaching and contribute to institutional and professional service. The application materials should clearly demonstrate the potential of the candidate to succeed in meeting these expectations.

Job Requirements:
A Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent with two years of teaching experience in post-secondary education. Commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. Demonstrated commitment to student mentoring and support. Excellent communication skills are required.
